Beatrice Earl
These 2 photographs feature long term village resident Miss Beatrice Earl who was born in MILLHOUSE,
now in her late 80s, served in the Royal Air Force during her youth.
She then lived and worked in Windermere, then Threlkeld before returning to MILLHOUSE
to care for her elderly mother in the 1960's.
Because of her popularity and unrivaled dedication to the people of MILLHOUSE
and local area, she was assigned to officially carry out the tape cutting opening of our new village Hall, (together with Hall chairman Tommy Little)
in 1999.

Armed forces day, Friday 3rd July 2015
The Local armed forces Coffee morning event was arranged in MILLHOUSE
village Hall by Philippa Groves, Northern Fells Group village agent for Castle Sowerby and Mungrisdale.
MORE than 50 people attended the Armed Forces Day coffee morning at MILLHOUSE
village hall, on Saturday 4th July 2015.
The hall was decorated with an eye-catching and colourful display of flags, all associated with the forces, by courtesy of local vexillologist David Kerry. Red tablecloths and Union Jack napkins all added to the ambience.
A plentiful supply of tea and coffee and tasty bacon and sausage butties went down very well, served by a band of helpers including Jay Maclean, Rhona King, Ilona Ferrouk and Diane Barraclough. Home-baked bread rolls were made by Gwynne Hunt and home-made cakes by Catherine Eastwood, Jo Hardy and Helen Sturges.
